Tim Bond: The challenges of
being trustworthy as a therapist: an alternative ethic?
Most professional bodies for therapists talk about ethics in
terms of principles, rules and laws. In this talk I will suggest
that something else matters more to clients and patients. This
is the clients' sense of the trustworthiness of their therapist.
This talk will offer some case studies in order invite people to
consider what does it mean to be trustworthy as a therapist. The
talk will build on ideas first published in Italian as
"Intimità, rischio e reciprocità in psicoterapia: complesse
sfide etiche" in "Quaderno di Psicologia, Analisi Transazionale
e Scienze Umane" n.47-48: 65-95 (Translated from

Le sfide
dell’essere affidabile come terapeuta: un’alternativa etica?
La maggior parte degli
organismi professionali per terapeuti parla di etica in termini
di principi, regole e leggi. In questa presentazione proporrò
qualcos’altro, che interessa di più a clienti e pazienti. Ciò
riguarda il senso che il cliente ha di affidabilità del proprio
terapeuta. Questa relazione proporrà alcuni casi clinici al fine
di stimolare le persone a considerare che cosa significa essere
affidabile come terapeuta. L'intervento si baserà su idee
pubblicate per la prima volta in italiano nell’articolo
"Intimità, rischio e reciprocità in psicoterapia: complesse
sfide etiche" in Quaderno di Psicologia, Analisi
Transazionale e Scienze Umane, N. 47-48: 65-95 (Tradotto
