Professional Training Standards Committee
PTSC is the committee that reviews and decides upon the criteria and requirements for training to CTA and TSTA level of qualification in any of the four fields.
PTSC is responsible not only for ensuring that training reaches a required standard but also that it takes account of the elements necessary in the formation of an effective practitioner including theory, skills, awareness of diversity, professional practice, personal development and so on.
PTSC has a sub-committee (COC) which manages everything to do with the examination process.
A description of contractual training, including its requirements and procedures, can be found in the EATA Training Manual which is available on this web-site.
The day to day work of PTSC includes addressing individual or national issues that require a personalised response or exception, including perhaps a bursary. In this way, PTSC aims to work within TA’s philosophy, which embraces respect for difference and individual needs.
PTSC is also deeply involved with the work of PSC (the training arm of ITAA) and FTAA’s TSC with which we have mutual recognition of training. The aim is to maintain a world-wide standard of training and certification that both upholds levels of excellence and is also enriched by different cultural perspectives.
